South Africa host Champions trophy
South Africa, the 2009 Champions Trophy in September and October with the unanimous approval of a place on the International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting.
South Africa was recommended as the host of the eight-team, 12-day tournament after postponing last year when it was planned in Pakistan, and concerns about the weather in Sri Lanka.
The New Wanderers Stadium (Johannesburg) and Centurion Park (Pretoria), the two locations are used.
"I think the board has a wise decision that will be the case every chance of success," ICC president David Morgan said. "We now have clarity on this issue and we can firm plans for what will be a great spectacle of ODI cricket.
"The Wanderers and Centurion, South Africa Cricket may offer two world class sites in what is effectively a city and as we know from the ICC World Twenty20 2007, again in the area around Johannesburg in September and October are stable and ideal for cricket.
"I thank the Sri Lanka Cricket for its commitment to providing an alternative to Pakistan. And I also want to acknowledge its willingness to step aside in this case. I would also like to thank the CSA for his hand and offer to host this event.

The Board has also decided that the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 in the West was to be held between 30 April and 16 May in St. Lucia, Guyana, Barbados and St. Kitts.
