Ponting fine after injury scare

Australia captain Ricky Ponting had an injury scare in practice today as England’s npower Ashes opponents began their preparation for the World Twenty20.

Ponting was hit on the wrist, by a ball struck by Mike Hussey in the neighbouring net, and required attention by team doctors in Nottingham.

The 34-year-old batsman sat out the rest of the net session but should return to action tomorrow, when he is set to play in the warm-up match against Bangladesh at Trent Bridge.
